If you’re pressed for time but still want to get a good calorie burn, High Intensity Interval Training is definitely the best bang for your buck.  Basically, HIIT means that you are working for time instead of counting reps – short bursts of intense work, followed by a period of rest.  In today’s workout, I mixed things up with an “active rest” period, which sort of means no rest at all!  🙂

I set my Gymboss for 40 second intervals and repeated each pair (one high heartrate exercise, plus one stability/holding exercise) twice.

  • The Wave + Squat Hold
  • Alley Oops + Left Side Plank Hold
  • Stepback and Kick + Right Side Plank Hold
  • (Built-in Finisher) Jackknifes + V-sit Hold
