Tabata is a great way to burn fat in a short amount of time. You basically can’t go wrong whether you choose cardio moves for a big calorie burn or strength moves to improve muscle endurance. So why not do both?
Yep, that’s how we get this truly terrible Tabata workout! It’s full body conditioning – strength work, core exercises and plenty of cardio to get your heart rate up, served up in just a 20-minute workout that doesn’t need any equipment.
This fast, fat-blasting workout uses a Tabata timing scheme with a twist: strength exercises are paired with a cardio exercise for three solid minutes of work without rest. Feel free to leave me a comment or check out the video below if you have any questions about the exercises.
TOTAL BODY Fat Loss HIIT Workout | BODYWEIGHT Cardio, Strength + Core with TABATA Intervals
Exercises are performed in pairs – Exercise 1 for 20 seconds, and Exercise 2 for 10 seconds, repeat 6 times. After 30 seconds of rest, move on to the next pair of exercises.
- Squats (20 seconds) + Jumping Jacks (10 seconds)
- Lat Pulldowns (20 seconds) + Toy Soldiers (10 seconds)
- Drinky Bird Kicks (20 seconds) + Star Jumps (10 seconds)
- Tabletop Crunches (20 seconds) + Rockettes (10 seconds)
- Pushup to Pike (20 seconds) + Mountain Climbers (10 seconds)
Finisher (an oldie but a goodie, one of my favorites!), performed without rest: 20 second Front Plank, 10 second Left Side Plank, 20 second Front Plank, 10 second Right Side Plank, 20 second Front Plank
