Can a super sweaty workout really be FUN? | Mini Challenge 37

Happy Mini Challenge Sunday, Killer Bs!

First, I apologize for this going out a little late – I was a li’l bit busy yesterday …

 

At the FINISH LINE of my 110k race. Nineteen hours and twenty minutes is a long time to run, in case you were wondering.

And second, I am SO excited to share this week’s workouts with you!  I picked some of my all-time super fun favorites along with a couple of all-new videos that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

Which brings us to an interesting question:  Can a super sweaty workout really be FUN?

I mean, you’re working hard, you’re putting stress on your body, you’re pushing the limits of your heart and lungs and muscles… how can that be FUN?  And this is a real question!  I don’t have a scientific answer for you!

But I do have a couple of theories:

  • We – even introverts like me – are social creatures, and hard work done together is still pleasurable.  Yay for fitness friends!
  • The release of endorphinsthe “happy hormone” – during exercise makes the work seem enjoyable and keeps us coming back for more.
  • Fun is where you make it!  So you might as well make everything fun!

So, let’s have some fun this week, shall we?

#PahlaBMiniChallenge 2018 September 17 - 21 Week THIRTY-SEVEN

On MONDAY, we’re starting the week with a MINI TRAMPOLINE SWEAT-FEST that is the exact right amount of challenging and fun.  This all-cardio routine gets the week going with a bouncing good time.  Plus there’s a SUGGESTED STACKER if you’d like a little more.  Don’t have a mini trampoline?  You can do these workouts on flat, level ground!

TUESDAY’S all-new Let’s RUN podcast is short, sweet and simple:  we’re talking about HOW TO START RUNNING, with manageable intervals and lots of advice for how to make running part of your routine.  Because this one’s so quick, I STACKED it with a longer walk + run that answers a lot of your newbie runner questions.

WEDNESDAY’S workout is one of my favorites (I say that a lot, don’t I?  I have over 600 videos, and somehow they’re all my favorites!) – a STABILITY BALL METCON with non-stop cardio and strength that packs an extra core strengthening punch by using the exercise ball.

On THURSDAY, we’re leaping and jumping our way fit with a FUN (and sweaty!) AGILITY WORKOUT that challenges your balance as well as your heart and lungs.  The SUGGESTED STACKER keeps that cardio party going.

And FRIDAY, we’re picking up heavy things and putting them down again.  This FULL BODY SCULPTING workout is all strength, all the time, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get sweaty!  A quick note about the Level FIVE rating:  you can very easily bring this one down to a Level THREE or even Level ONE!  It’s all about the weights you choose.  I went heavy, so this workout was really hard for me!
