Hello and Happy Sunday to you, Killer Bs!
You may have seen a story that’s making its way around the Internet about how an imperfectly wrapped gift🎁 is far superior to a pristinely-wrapped one. That’s because the imperfect wrapping allows what’s inside to SHINE EVEN BRIGHTER🔆.
I appreciate this tale on every level. On the one hand, we have a joke in my house about how all of my presents are wrapped by Rosy😺 and Agatha 😸 (the cats!), because I am a truly terrible gift-wrapper.
But on the other hand, it’s an incredible metaphor for YOU – no matter your skill with wrapping paper – on your fitness journey!
We often get all wrapped up (pun intended!) in seeking perfection while we’re exercising. We focus so hard on making sure we do each move perfectly (I may or may not be talking about drinky birds here😏), that we miss the BIGGER PICTURE of how we’re making our insides shine.🌞
The truth, my friends, is that if you’re showing up, if you’re moving, if you’re doing your best to do the exercises in a safe way – THAT IS PERFECT💯! Your heart💙, muscles💪 and bones🦴 are getting stronger; your balance is improving; and your mental health is benefitting, too.
Ahhhh, what a GIFT!

Here’s how the Mini Challenge works:
- Choose a GOAL – weight loss (for weight loss) or body shaping (for maintaining your weight and improving your fitness)
- Follow the WORKOUTS for your goal – if you’re losing weight, each day’s effort should feel very moderate and consistent (because weight loss over 50 is driven by eating the right number of calories consistently); if you’re shaping your body, one day will be an intense push, two days will be very relaxed and the rest of the days should feel mild to moderate. Changing your intensity is what changes your body.
- The BONUS CONTENT is appropriate for either goal.
