While I was running a 20-minute PR (Personal Record, or personal best) at yesterday’s 50k race, I had an epiphany. (And, no I’m not even trying to pretend like that was a #humblebrag, that’s me straight. up. bragging.) 😅
About halfway in, I was riding the struggle bus and NOT happy about the way my day was going. I was frustrated and complaining and ready to just throw in the towel on my dream for the day, which was to run a faster time than my last 50k two weeks ago.
And in the middle of my cursing and whining, it suddenly occurred to me: Nobody was going to hand me my goal, I had to go get it myself.
So I did.
My friend, you don’t need my permission, but here it is anyway: GO GET YOUR GOALS.
No fitness dream is too big, no weight loss or running goal is too crazy. YOU can have it, but only if you don’t wait around for somebody else to give it to you.
